• Falls from height is the biggest cause of UK fatalities at work.
• Between 2019 and 2020, the biggest cause of fatalities in the UK was working at height.
• Companies have a legal duty to their employees and persons not in their employment with regard to ladder safety.
• There is specific legislation concerning ladders' Laws that govern ladders and stepladders in the UK include:
  a) The Work at Height Regulations 2005
  b) The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 - requirement for risk assessment under Regulation 3.
  c) The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 - requirement for inspection and maintenance.
