NVQ 2 OSAT Roofing
The OSAT caters specifically to experienced roofers lacking formal qualifications that have at least three years’ experience. The OSAT eliminates the need for traditional courses, conducting assessments directly on-site. This approach minimises disruption to regular work activities. Upon securing the NVQ2, individuals are eligible to apply for the blue CSCS ‘Skilled Worker’ card, signifying their competency for on-site work.
How it works
The duration of the OSAT varies but typically lasts three to six months for experienced installers capable of collating relevant evidence. Qualified assessors will visit your workplace to evaluate skills and offer training if needed. Assessors guide candidates on evidence collection and portfolio building, emphasising the importance of active participation roofing projects during the OSAT.
All Industry Accreditation (IA) cards (Grandfather Rights) issued from 1st January 2020 will expire on 31st December 2024 and cannot be replaced using IA.
This is to meet industry requirements, the OSAT route is ideal to renew your CSCS blue card.
